Iconic online casino InterCasino underwent a major upgrade this week when it was relaunched on the powerful Plain Gaming casino software platform.
InterCasino, which is celebrating its twentieth year on the market, was purchased by the Canadian company Dumarca Gaming in 2014. Dumarca Gaming is the parent company of the Intertain Group, which operates InterCasino, as well as the Plain Gaming software developer.
This week's move to relaunch InterCasino on the Plain Gaming platform is an effort to create synergy within the Intertain brands, which include Costa Bingo and the booming Vera&John Casino. Johan Königslehner, CEO of Dumarca Gaming, said that using their proprietary platform for both Vera&John and InterCasino was part of the company's core strategy for the future.
Besides the reduction in costs associated with using an in-house software platform, InterCasino's move to using the Plain Gaming platform also carries other benefits. The platform itself supports over 1,000 different desktop titles, including live dealer games, from some of the world's best game developers.
However, one of the biggest perks of the platform is its focus on mobile gaming, with over 400 mobile titles already available. Vera&John casino already uses the Plain Gaming platform, and currently sees about half of its revenue come through mobile gaming. The company sees enormous growth potential in mobile gaming, and sees the adoption of this new platform as a way for InterCasino to seriously upgrade its mobile offerings in both quantity and quality.
Intertain also sees the debut of the Plain Gaming platform at InterCasino as a way of leveraging the brand's equity into promotion for their platform. In addition to powering their in-house casinos, the Plain Gaming platform is licensed to third parties, and is already powering Finlandia Casino, along with several other online casinos around the world.
