NYX Gaming Acquisition Caters to UK Online Markets
NYX Gaming Group Limited, one of the leading software developers and content suppliers for the online gambling industry, has recently announced its purchase of UK-based developer and supplier of gaming content and platforms Betdigital.
According to a press release, this acquisition, which has expanded NYX’s market share, will provide NYX with a game development studio and platform that specifically caters to the UK retail and online markets. Additionally, Betdigital - known for creating content and systems for online, land-based, mobile and TV gaming platforms - will give NYX Gaming the ability to expand its games development opportunities and leverage current NYX studios for game art and design.
One of Betdigital’s biggest claims to fame is how effectively it develops cross-platform games. The company has been incredibly successful at bringing online casino games to land-based casinos. In fact, the recent acquisition occurred just slightly after Betdigital’s success with a series of its titles. The software developer and supplier has proved time and again, since being founded in 2011, that it understands the UK market and is fully aware of how to increase its presence within it.
Commenting on the acquisition, Betdigital CEO and General Counsel Heath Samples said that the company can help NYX attain maximum returns for its omni-channel expansion plans. NYX’s CEO Matt Davey agreed that they have found an asset in Betdigital that will strengthen NYX’s reach and position, especially in the UK market.
In regard to the financial terms of the acquisition, NYX Gaming Group will pay up to £24.5 million for Betdigital. The total assets acquired were smaller than 5% of NYX’s total assets as of the 31st of March, 2016.
